A Floral Encounter - Poem by Laurie Van der Hart

When last I stopped
To encounter a flower
I remember not

But feeling free
And refreshed by the sea
Today we met -
A frangipani and me

The familiar enticement
Of gently yellow fragrance
Brought a blossoming of
Vividly perfumed memories

A kaleidoscope of
Petalled thoughts
Blossomed in time-lapse

And disappeared
As I parted with the scent
